At the DewanBahadurLatthe Foundation (DBLF), we believe in nurturing both the land and the lives it sustains. Our Organic Agriculture and Agroforestry Mission is a holistic initiative to restore soil health, promote sustainable food systems, and empower rural communities through education, experimentation, and training.Research, Demonstration & Model Plots
In partnership with Dr. B.D. PatilKrishiTantraVidyalaya, Dattawad – a Grade "A" institute affiliated with M.P.K.V. Rahuri, we have pioneered an integrated farming research program: 70 one-acre experimental plots established under DBLF supervision. 50% cultivated organically, 50% using conventional fertilizers — enabling side-by-side comparisons and farmer education. 3 acres fully organic leaf and fruit vegetable farming for local livelihood generation. These model plots are real-world classrooms, where the benefits of organic techniques are made visible and measurable for visiting farmers.Training & Education for Farmers and Rural Youth
To foster grassroots transformation, DBLF has initiated extensive training programs: Training Centers in Chinchwad (Kolhapur District) and 25 more upcoming centers in rural schools of Latthe Education Society, which operates over 50 educational institutions across Maharashtra and Karnataka. Ongoing training at Dr.BabgondaDevgondaPatilKrishiTantraVidyalaya, Dattawad-Ghosarwad (ShirolTaluka). Farmer awareness programs in Ankali, Rukadi, Mangav, Alate, and Belgaum. Special events and organic agriculture exhibitions in Sangli, including 100 hours of farmer seminars and conferences celebrating AnnasahebLatthe’s legacy.Promoting Best Organic Practices
We train and motivate farmers to shift towards eco-friendly, natural farming practices, including:- Avoiding synthetic chemicals
- Using compost and natural fertilizers
- Natural pest control methods
- Crop rotation and soil regeneration
Why Organic?
Our awareness programs highlight the multiple benefits of organic food:- Free from harmful chemicals and toxins
- Superior taste and freshness
- Longer shelf life
- Natural resistance to pests and diseases

Environmental Goals of Our Initiative
Our organic agriculture efforts are also aligned with global climate and ecological priorities: Increased CO₂ absorption through agroforestry Enhanced oxygen supply by cultivating native trees Chemical-free fruits and clean water for communities Improved soil health and fertility Revived groundwater levels and sustainable water useTogether with students, farmers, scientists, and rural youth, DBLF is creating a future rooted in sustainability, self-reliance, and soil health. Whether you're a farmer looking to transition to organic practices or an institution interested in collaboration — we welcome you to be a part of this green revolution.
